
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police said at least five people died and 11 are hurt in a crash involving at least 17 vehicles on Interstate 35 in far north Austin late Thursday night.
Austin Police posted at 11:58 p.m. that all southbound lanes of the interstate were closed in the area between Parmer and Howard Lanes. It said the lanes would be closed for several hours.
APD said the crash happened around 11:20 p.m.
Austin-Travis County EMS said there were 17 patients in total and that the crash involved a sem-truck and several vehicles.
