Winnipeg teen charged with break and enter, theft in Windsor Park | CBC News

A 13-year-old boy has been charged with breaking into a business, causing roughly $4,000 in damages, and stealing about $500 worth of merchandise.

Winnipeg police arrested the youth Tuesday in connection with the Dec. 23 break-in.

Police were called to a business on Elizabeth Road, between Arundel Road and De Bourmont Avenue, around 10 p.m. to investigate a commercial break-in, a police news release said on Wednesday.

Someone broke the window of the business using a baseball bat to gain entry and stole some items from inside before fleeing, police said.

No injuries were reported in relation to the incident and the youth was detained in custody, police said.
