Leith artist Paul Meikle, also known as Pauly Pocket, is showing a number of reclaimed sculptures in his first solo exhibition this weekend. By reworking the iconic Montgomery Street Helter Skelter, he has created a series of artworks that will make you see the community landmark in a new light.

Gaelic community group Ionad Gàidhlig Dhùn Èideann will be hosting a discussion on Gaelic-medium education (GME) in the city this weekend. Bringing together teachers from various schools, as well as the former Chief Executive of the General Teaching Council for Scotland, the event will allow people to offer their thoughts about the future of Gaelic education for children in the Scottish capital. It is part of Edinburgh 900 celebrations funded by the council and is one of four Gaelic-focused events.
