A spokesperson for Eastleigh Police said: “After introducing Eastleigh District Commander, Rachel Noble to you all yesterday afternoon – thank you for the lovely comments on the post by the way – she and her amazing team of officers, from both Eastleigh Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and Eastleigh Priority Crime Team (PCT), were out detaining suspects.

“At approximately 11pm, while you were all hopefully tucked up safe in your beds, they arrested two men on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs – a 28-year-old man from Stevenage, Hertfordshire and a 35-year-old man from London.

“The vehicle in which they were travelling was first sighted in the Eastleigh area, suspected of being linked to drug dealing.

“Officers, including Chief Inspector Noble, soon located the vehicle, caught up with the men and they were subsequently detained on Bedford Place, Southampton. Both remain in police custody at this time.

“As well as the double arrest, items were also seized, including suspected Class A drugs, a large quantity of cash, mobile phones and a lock knife.”
