University of Colorado Buffaloes prep for first bowl game in years

DENVER (KDVR) — Head coach Deion Sanders will speak ahead of the University of Colorado Buffaloes’ first bowl game in years.

Coming into the season, the Buffs’ previous overall record stood at 4-8, a noticeable difference from 1-11 in the 2022-23 season. However, after Sander’s two years with the team, the 9-3 Buffs finished the 2024-25 regular season with a shutout against Oklahoma State.

The Buffs ended the regular season with quarterback Sheduer Sanders having the best overall odds to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 National Football League Draft and two-way star Travis Hunter named the Heisman Trophy recipient.

Even though the Buffs missed out on the Big 12 Championship, Colorado will get another chance on the big screen on Dec. 28 when the No. 23 Buffs face No. 17 Brigham Young University in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

With over a week until the Buffs head to the Alamodome, Sanders is prepping the team for their first bowl game since 2020.

Sanders, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and defensive coordinator Robert Livingston are expected to speak about the upcoming game at the University of Colorado Boulder at around 10:15 a.m.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
