AUSTIN (KXAN) — A third person was arrested in connection with a 19-year-old’s death that happened Jan. 24 in the 10500 block of Wildhorse Ranch Trail, according to an arrest affidavit.
The affidavit alleged that 23-year-old Emanuel Thompson was involved in the death of Victor Ekozeme. He is facing a capital murder charge for his role in Ekozeme’s death.
KXAN reached out to an attorney for Thompson. This story will be updated if we receive a response on his behalf to the accusations.
This comes after 18-year-old Bill Tarlue Nyanway and 17-year-old Robert Johnson were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting.
The Austin Police Department said their investigation revealed that Ekozeme and another victim had arrived at an apartment complex when the suspects began shooting into their car.
After being shot, Ekozeme tried to drive away, but he lost control of the vehicle due to his injuries. This resulted in Ekozeme’s car crashing into a fence and then going into a ditch, where he would then be found by officers, according to APD.
