‘The Last of Us’ actor Pedro Pascal condemns J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans social media post as ‘heinous’ – Foxton News

Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling Over “Heinous” Post Celebrating Anti-Trans Court Ruling
Pedro Pascal, star of The Last of Us, accused author J.K. Rowling of displaying “heinous loser behavior” after she posted a celebratory message following a U.K. court decision that refused to recognize transgender women as women.
Pascal directed his harsh criticism at the Harry Potter author in response to an Instagram video by activist Tariq Raouf. The video, which called for a complete boycott of Rowling’s widely successful franchise, condemned the writer’s reaction to the U.K. Supreme Court’s recent ruling. The ruling upheld that the Equality Act defines women as those born biologically female.
Rowling shared a photo of herself holding a drink and cigar on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “I love it when a plan comes together. #SupremeCourt #WomensRights,” following the decision. The Scottish author has been outspoken about her views on transgender women in recent years, often clashing with those who disagree with her stance on social media.
Raouf, who described Rowling as a “villain,” criticized her for “reveling” in the court’s decision. He called for a boycott of all things Harry Potter, including the books, an upcoming TV reboot, and visits to Universal Orlando’s Harry Potter theme park. Raouf argued that Rowling continues to profit from her work regardless of public opinion.
One of the top comments on Raouf’s video came from Pascal, who described Rowling’s actions as “heinous,” “awful,” and “disgusting.”
Representatives for both Pascal and Rowling did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
At the premiere of Marvel’s Thunderbolts in London on Tuesday, Pascal reaffirmed his support for the transgender community by wearing a T-shirt that read “Protect the Dolls,” a reference to the affectionate nickname for transgender women within the LGBTQ+ community. The shirt was designed by Connor Ives, with proceeds from sales benefiting Trans Lifeline, a nonprofit crisis hotline for transgender people.
Pascal has long been an advocate for transgender rights and has spoken lovingly about his transgender sister, Lux Pascal. Lux came out publicly in 2021 and later shared that Pedro had been a significant source of support throughout her transition. Pedro celebrated her publicly by posting her magazine cover on Instagram with the caption, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which translates to “My sister, my heart, our Lux.”
In an interview, Lux credited her brother with being an important guide during her transition. “He has been an important part of this,” she said. “He is also an artist and has been a guide. He was one of the first people who gave me the things to form identity.”
