But Mr Netanyahu has also been meeting with prominent Evangelical Christians. They are a powerful constituency in America and their interpretation of the Bible has made them resolute allies of Israel.
They believe that the Jewish people have a God-given right to all the land – including the West Bank – which is internationally recognised as Palestinian territory.
