AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Longhorns women’s basketball team continues to build its roster through the transfer portal.
Head coach Vic Schaefer announced two signings Monday, sharp-shooting Ashton Judd from Missouri and Teya Sidberry from Boston College, one of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s top rebounders last season.

Judd, a 6-foot-1 guard, spent the previous three seasons with the Tigers, averaging 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in 32 games (28 starts) last season. She scored in double figures 20 times last season and has a career 3-point percentage of 37.6%. She has 1,010 career points and was an all-SEC freshman team honoree in 2022-23.
Schaefer said he’s going to use Judd all over the floor.
“Ashton will play multiple positions for us because she has a unique and dynamic skillset,” he said. “Her ability to score at all three levels: finish with contact, stretch the floor and score off the bounce will make our team better immediately.”
Texas will be Sidberry’s third school after starting her collegiate career at Utah. She played one season there and two more with the Eagles in Chestnut Hill. She averaged 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last year.
She exploded for 28 points against Florida State and had a 24-point, 17-rebound, double-double against Syracuse, helping lead the Eagles back from a 19-point deficit to victory. She had nine 20-point games and six double-doubles last season.

Sidberry is the all-time leading scorer in Utah high school basketball history and was the 2022 Gatorade Utah Player of the Year. She’s from Salt Lake City.
“Her spirit and smile are infectious and Longhorn Nation will love her,” Schaefer said. “She has proven to be a scorer at all three levels. When addressing our needs we really felt Teya could bring grittiness, a knack for rebounding and an ability to finish and score in multiple ways.”
The duo joins Breya Cunningham and Lovisa Asbrink Hose as offseason transfer additions. Laila Phelia, Abbie Boutilier, Jordana Codio and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda entered the transfer portal. Boutilier recently committed to Eastern Illinois and Codio is headed to Seton Hall.
