NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Stewart’s Shops is closing its store at 4240 Consaul Road in Niskayuna. A Stewart’s spokesperson said the shop’s last day is Sunday, April 27.
The spokesperson said Stewart’s has been focusing on investing in and expanding its legacy stores. The Consaul Road shop was very small, had no gas pumps and had no room to expand. That’s what went into the decision to close.
Employees at the shop were offered other positions within the company. Stewart’s has nearby locations at 1773 State Street and 1739 Union Street in Schenectady, and 1502 Balltown Road in Niskayuna.
