DENVER (KDVR) — Cooler temperatures that the chance for showers are in Denver’s weather forecast for the end of the week and into the start of the weekend.
Saturday, April 5, is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day as rain transitions to snow overnight Friday into Saturday and is expected to continue Saturday morning. The heavy, wet snow is expected to have the highest accumulations in the western portion of the Denver metro area and heading up into the Palmer Divide.
Weather tonight: Chance for showers, cool
Clouds linger Tuesday night alongside the chance for a few showers. Low temperatures will fall to the upper 20s, leading to any overnight showers in the form of light flurries.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny start, afternoon showers
Wednesday will start with sunshine, followed by increasing clouds and then a few showers as temperatures climb to the lower 50s.

Looking ahead: More showers, chilly opening day for the Rockies
A southern storm will bring a more widespread chance for showers Thursday. The high country, especially the southern mountains will see the best chance for snow, but even the Front Range and metro will get in on a few showers.

Friday, temperatures will be below normal, only reaching the 40s during the Rockies home opener. At this point, it looks like we will see increasing clouds through the start of the game followed by evening showers.
As temperatures drop below freezing Friday night into Saturday, showers will transition to snowfall and will lead to a couple of inches of snowfall on the ground Saturday morning.

Sunshine returns on Sunday alongside a warming trend. Highs on Sunday will reach the 50s, which is still about 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. Seasonal temperatures in the lower 60s come back Monday, then warmer weather and sunshine sticks around Tuesday.
