The D Class inshore lifeboat ‘David Radcliffe’ was deployed by Solent Coastguard just after 8pm on April 1.
However, as the lifeboat approached the scene, the two people had been rescued by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and safely returned to dry land.

The incident occurred off the shore at Netley.
A spokesperson the the Calshot RNLI said: “Just a friendly reminder that if you are planning a walk near the water, low tides can often expose areas of beach not often accessible, so please do take extra care and always check local tide times.”
The reminder comes as the warmer months approach, bringing more people to the coast for walks and other activities.
