The Snappy Trust has celebrated 40 years since first opening its doors with a big party yesterday – May 31 – for the children who use its services, the Lord Mayor, and a group of bikers.

This was held at the charity’s new location at Applefields School in Burnholme.

Originally founded in 1985, Snappy (Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York) was created by four parents who wanted to support their children over the school holidays when they had more limited time with friends

Since then, the charity has become a trust and grown to support more than 300 children and their families in York and the surrounding areas.
