NAMED: Man appears in court after cannabis farm worth £1.9m found by police

Long Thanh Nguyen was in the dock at Teesside Magistrates Court today (May 19), charged with producing a controlled drug of class B.

Nguyen, 39, was arrested after the expansive farm was found in a premises on Marsh Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday, May 17.

No plea was entered, and he will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 18 at 10.30am.

A full Cleveland Police statement previously said: “A 39-year-old man has been charged with producing a controlled drug of class B after a substantial cannabis farm was located in Marsh Road, Middlesbrough, on Saturday 17th May.

“The farm is currently valued at up to £1.9 million in street value.

“The man is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Monday 19th May.”
