After judge Amanda Holden criticised Harry & Lewis, the first act to appear in the third live semi-final, fans began booing her.
She said that the duo’s performance was not a “step up” from their audition, leading to those in attendance to let their disapproval be known.
However, many watching from home were left irritated by this, with one person writing: “Audience will cheer for anything and boo for any kind of criticism they’re so f****** annoying.”
Another said: “Crowd can boo all they want, but Simon and Amanda are spot on.”
A third penned: “God f****** shut up audience,” while a fourth added: “LET AMANDA CRITICISE… for goodness sake.”
One viewer said: “Watching Britain’s Got Talent for the first time in about 10 years.
“To the audience it ain’t the f****** panto. STFU. Simon and Amanda are right, though. It’s not worthy of winning the thing.”
This comes after Jasmine Rice revealed she had received shocking and heartbreaking news just hours before her audition for the show earlier this year.
The drag queen and opera singer wowed judges at her first BGT audition, but hours before she received the sad news of her grandmother’s death.
Rice said she received the news in a phone call from her father, sharing: “It was out of the blue. She wasn’t sick. She did have dementia. My family – including my grandma – have been such an amazing support system for me to continue singing.”
Sharing how she carried on with her BGT audition, Rice said: “I basically thought of that and used that as fuel to continue and try to concentrate and do my best.”
