Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police called to ‘stabbing’

It follows an alleged incident on Yarm Lane in Stockton, outside the Premier and Fani Vapes shops, at about 10.40pm on Monday (May 5).

A 41-year-old man was found to have been stabbed multiple times and was taken to hospital by paramedics. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are continuing to investigate and have urged any witnesses or anyone with footage to contact them.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: “Anyone with information or footage of the incident is asked to call 101 quoting reference SE25080373.”

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 10.38pm on Monday 5 May to reports of a person injured in the Yarm Lane area of Stockton.

“We dispatched an ambulance crew and a specialist paramedic to the scene and transported one patient to hospital for further treatment.”
