Four fire engines raced to the shopping hub in the city centre following reports of smoke in the cinema at 3.58pm on Saturday, May 3.
In a post to social media, a user said they had been “evacuated” from the cinema 10 minutes into a film.
However, the firefighters found that the smoke was “synthetic” and allowed the cinema to get back to work.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.58pm on Saturday, 3 May, to reports of smoke within a commercial premises in St. Enoch Shopping Centre, Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where firefighters found synthetic smoke within a cinema.
“Crews left the scene at 5.17pm after ensuring the area was safe.”
