Emmerdale boss reveals this character is returning, causing ‘huge problems’

Producer Laura Shaw confirmed Dylan Penders played by Fred Kettle will be back once more to cause chaos (and trouble) for April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan).

The teen will be back on the ITV soap later this year and will be “bringing his past back” to the Yorkshire Dales village.

Dylan, who was last seen on TV screens in March, first met April while she was living on the streets after running away from home.

His last appearance in Emmerdale came after he was being framed by April’s father Marlon Dingle for robbing ketamine from the vet’s practice, which was followed by Dylan overdosing and ending up in hospital.

This was when Marlon offered to pay for him to go to rehab, as long as he stayed away from April, before he soon confessed his actions to his daughter.

Commenting on Dylan’s return, producer Laura shared with The Mirror and other press outlets: “The lovely Fred Kettle who played Dylan is coming back to the show.

“He is gonna be bringing his past back to the village with him and that’s going to cause huge problems for April and the family there.”

The Emmerdale boss has also teased what Bradley Riches’ first storyline could entail, as the Celebrity Big Brother star is set to join the programme this month.

She commented: “Bradley Riches has joined the show. I’m very excited about that. This character was definitely created just for Bradley. I’m dead excited to see what chaos Lewis gonna bring to Ross’ life.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX.
