ProCook is opening its doors for the first time at 9am with shoppers expected to flock to Westquay to get a first look at the store.
The first ProCook store in the city is the 67th to open nationally, having been founded more than 25 years ago.
ProCook’s regional director, Joe Pennington, told the Echo that Southampton was the place to be.
He said: “It’s a high traffic area, when you look at the local vicinity there’s a few market towns around here but for central destination shopping, Southampton is the place to come to.
“It’s in a great location in Westquay shopping centre – right next door to John Lewis – and the same floor as Marks & Spencer.

“We are really proud of the store and Southampton is a great shopping destination, it’s a highly affluent area, there’s lots of university students in the city, and that really appeals to our product marketable demographic, we’re really pleased to be in Southampton.”
Known for its cookware, tableware, and knife selection, ProCook’s regional director said the new store is “a real treasure chest,” that offers something for everyone.
Despite the challenges businesses have faced following the Covid-19 pandemic, Joe said the business was growing and had the “potential to grow even further.”
He said: “We’ve opened 12 stores in the last 12 months and have six more in the pipeline.
“Post-pandemic it’s been a real chop and change environment on the high street, but ProCook is certainly growing and has the potential to grow even further which is huge. We’re trying to bring this product to a wider audience and retail expansion is the way to go.
“It’s not easy work to open a new store but there’s a great team within our shop and everyone plays their part.”
ProCook will employ eight new members of staff at its Southampton store and took just three days to be fully merchandised in time for its grand opening.
