Officers were in Montague Avenue on Wednesday afternoon speaking to shop staff and members of the public just days after Southampton Itchen MP, Darren Paffey, held a coffee morning for more than 40 residents at Central Baptist Church.
It comes after residents said “more needs to be done” to tackle the issue.
A dispersal order was issued for Southampton city centre last week after a member of staff at Marlands Shopping Centre was reportedly assaulted.

“We are pleased to report that we didn’t encounter any issues this afternoon – please do keep reporting incidents to us when they occur by calling 101 or by visiting our website. Always call 999 in an emergency or if someone is in danger.”
