A stretch of Trunk Road in Middlesbrough remains closed this evening (March 4) following a crash at around 6.30pm.
Police, the ambulance service and Great North Air Ambulance service were all called to the scene and one person was taken to hospital.
It is not known when the road will be re-opened.
A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a road traffic incident involving a car and a pedestrian at 6.32pm this evening, on Trunk Road, Middlesbrough.
“We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, clinical team leader, and officer and were supported by the medical car from Great North Air Ambulance Service.
“One patient was take to James Cook Hospital with a doctor on board.”
