The discount retailer is preparing to open a new extension at the shopping centre next month following months of work on the store car park.
Several weeks ago a new green boundary fence was installed at the side of the former Toys R Us, which was surrounded by metal fences, skips, and shipping containers.
The chain previously said it planned to open the garden centre on March 15 – but now, bosses have confirmed the new opening date of Thursday, March 13.
The 10,000 sq ft space, which will officially open at 8am, will feature a wide variety of gardening products including hundreds of plant varieties and essentials including hardware, planters, storage, chemicals, and garden building and fencing.

As previously reported, B&M, which opened at Teesside Park in November 2023, was initially due to open the extension in spring or summer 2024, before being pushed back to this year.
B&M’s senior garden buyer Steve Davies said: “We are thrilled to open our Teesside Garden Centre and welcome our new green-fingered customers in County Durham.
“As Teesside joins our B&M Garden Centre family, we’re excited to be offering our customers a wide variety of plants, gardening essentials including hardware, planters, storage, chemicals, garden building and fencing and much more top-quality products at unbeatable prices.
“Today is a momentous occasion, and all our colleagues at B&M can take pride in the next opening of our botanica journey. We are incredibly proud of the efforts and hard work of everyone involved.”

The store manager added: “It will be really exciting to welcome customers through the doors to the new garden centre and we hope customers will be delighted with the addition.”
The garden centre will be joined by several other new stores in 2025, including the new mega Sports Direct unit, located in the former Laura Ashley, Argos, USC, and MenKind stores.
The current Sports Direct store – which is due to close down in March – will then become home to luxury chain Flannels, which is also under the Frasers umbrella alongside Sports Direct.
