Fire fighters called to hospital after ‘reports of smoke’

East Sussex Fire and Rescue were called following reports of smoke above the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

Fire engines were sent to Eastern Road at around 1.35pm today.

The incident was found to be a false alarm.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue took to social media to reassure the public.

It shared that smoke coming from a chimney had been mistaken as a fire.

It told the public that smoke may continue to be seen at the building.
