Guests can hear tales of infamous villains – including Guy Fawkes and Erik Bloodaxe – while sampling the offerings from Villains Rum of York.
The company, which opened its store in Little Stonegate last November, will host the event in Barley Hall on Tuesday, February 18, from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Owner Marie Harris said it will be a “lovely evening with a bit of history, a bit of gore and lots of rum”.
“Alex Ibbott, an historical expert, will be there to give a talk and chat with people at the end of the session,” she said.
“On top of that, whoever comes along will receive a miniature of Queen Gunnhildr rum, and we don’t sell miniatures – the smallest bottle we sell is 200 millilitres.
“We’ll also be launching a giveaway, where the first 100 people to make an in-store purchase will receive a miniature.”
Marie added that the business currently offers a regular 30-minute tour and tasting session on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
