Sussex Police responded to reports of a single vehicle collision on the A27 near Lewes on January 24 at around 4.30pm.
Officers arrested Richard Walsh, 68, of Sackville Road, Bexhill at the scene.

Sussex Police have since charged Walsh with driving while over the alcohol limit.
He is due to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on February 19.
