Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for information after a BMW reportedly “clipped a kerb” before mounting the pavement on Leigh Road in Worsley at 3.30am.
A man in his 30s suffered “serious, life-threatening injuries” in the crash and remains in hospital for treatment.
A woman in her 40s was also hurt, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
GMP’s serious collision investigation unit (SCIU) have appealed to the public for any information as part of their enquiries – including any dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident.
A GMP spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for information following a serious collision in Salford earlier this morning (Sunday).
“At around 3.30am, a BMW is believed to have clipped a kerb before mounting the pavement, while driving down Leigh Road in Worsley.
“A man in his 30s received serious, life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital for treatment.
“A woman in her 40s also received injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening or changing.
“Our SCIU is now appealing for information as their enquiries continue.
