LSG captain Rishabh Pant has slammed rumours that he will be released by LSG ahead of the IPL 2026 campaign, calling it fake news. Pant, who was bought by Lucknow for Rs.27 Crore in the auction, has endured a torrid campaign in IPL 2025 as he has scored just 135 runs from 135 balls in 12 matches.
Pant’s failure with the bat affected the performance of LSG during the campaign as they were knocked out of IPL 2025, following the loss to SRH. A X user posted that Pant will be released ahead of the IPL 2026 auction as LSG feel his price tag is too much. Ahead of the game against GT, Pant responded to the post.
The LSG skipper asked the user not to build everything around fake news, despite it giving him more traction. Pant said that little sense and credible news will help more. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter also urged the user to be responsible and sensible about the type of content that is being posted on social media.
“I understand fake News gives more traction To content but let’s not built everything around it . Little sense and credible news will help more rather making fake news with agenda . Thanks have a good day . Let’s be responsible and sensible what we put out on social media,” said Pant.
