DENVER (KDVR) — Wheat Ridge police are investigating two early morning smash-and-grab burglaries that may be related.
Police said both crimes happened within a 15-minute period, just after 2 a.m., on Friday.
The first happened at a liquor store on West 44th Avenue. Surveillance video shows the suspects backing up a vehicle and smashing through the front glass.
A store employee doesn’t believe any merchandise was stolen. There is no ATM at that location.
Minutes later, a similar crime happened at a vape shop near 39th Avenue, causing $10,000 worth of damage. No word, yet, how much merchandise may have been stolen.
A spokesperson for the Arvada Police Department said a liquor store was also burglarized close to the same time as the Wheat Ridge incidents. The crime also involved smash-and-grab characteristics. The suspects were not able to gain entry.
