One dead, another injured after large fight in downtown Calgary neighbourhood | CBC News

One person is dead and at least one other was sent to hospital early Saturday morning, after a large brawl in central Calgary led to stabbings, police say.

The investigation has led to road closures in the Beltline neighbourhood, with 10th Avenue S.W. shut down between 5th and 8th avenues.

Shortly before 2 a.m., police responded to the 700 block of 10th Avenue S.W. to reports of a “large fight” in a parking lot outside of a bar. Police say the fight began at Commonwealth Bar and Stage. Responding officers found multiple victims suffering from stab wounds, police say.

One of the victims was declared dead at the scene, while another was taken to hospital in stable condition.

But a short time later, a third stabbing victim arrived at the hospital in stable condition. Police are working to find out if this incident is related to the fight, police say.

Homicide detectives are talking to people of interest related to the case, but police said no charges have been laid yet.
