NY airports get over $40M in federal funds for renovations

WASHINGTON (NEWS10) — More than $40 million in federal funding is being distributed to airports across New York State. Over half of the money is coming to the Capital Region.

The money is being designated for renovations to renovations that will modernize terminals, improve safety and enhance passenger experience.

Albany International Airport in Colonie is receiving $21,915,184. It will be used for reconstructing 60,000 sq. ft. of existing terminal, including main entrance, lobby, security, baggage areas, canopies, and sidewalks.

Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury is receiving $210,803 for taxiway reconstruction.

Schenectady County Airport will get $658,540 for an airport drainage study as well as updating the airport master plan study.

Columbia County Airport in Hudson is receiving $87,252 for weather system replacement and an additional $87,058 for terminal parking lot reconstruction.

The funding was secured through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
