
A mountain biker sustained a back injury in Hermitage Wood, near Stirling, at the weekend.
A mountain biker suffered a back injury in a woodland and had to be stretchered out by rescue volunteers at the weekend.
Volunteers from the Ochils Mountain Rescue Team (Ochils MRT) – based at Fishcross, Clackmannanshire – were drafted in to assist the cyclist on Sunday afternoon.
The team was called out to the Hermitage Woods area, near Stirling, just after 12.15pm on Sunday, March 16, by Police Scotland to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service in extracting the mountain biker.
As the biker lay with suspected back injuries, 10 members of the rescue team were deployed.

The casualty was quickly located and treated at the scene before being stretchered to a waiting ambulance.
A spokesperson for Ochils MRT said: “The team was called out to the Hermitage Woods area near Stirling, just after 12.15pm today by Police Scotland, to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service in extracting a mountain biker with suspected back injuries.
“We mobilised 10 volunteer team members and the casualty was carefully treated, then loaded into our scoop stretcher for evacuation to a waiting ambulance.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and hope they will be back on their bike soon.
“If you require assistance in the hills or inaccessible areas, dial 999 ask for police and then mountain rescue.
“Other emergency services will be deployed through Police Scotland as required.”
