World No.2 Swiatek will lock horns with 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu at the Rod Laver Arena in the third round. The Pole has won four Grand Slam titles, but is yet to get her hands on the crown at Melbourne Park.
World No.1 Sinner will face USA’s Marcos Giron in the third round. The clash between Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina and fourth seed Jasmine Paolini is also going to gain a lot of attention. Eva Lys, the lucky loser, who joined the main draw after Anna Kalinskaya’s withdrawal, will be up against Jaqueline Cristian of Romania. Lys has beaten Kimberly Birrell and Varvara Gracheva thus far.
Emma Navarro, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur and Elena Rybakina are the other players in the top of the WTA and ATP rankings to be in action on Saturday. India’s N Sriram Balaji and Mexico’s Miguel Reyes-Varela will play their second-round match of men’s doubles. R Senthil Kumar will be up against Finland’s Oskari Paldanius in the first round of the Junior Boys Singles.
Danielle Collins, who came into the limelight with her ‘Hulk Hogan’ celebration, is scheduled to face Madison Keys, her compatriot from the United States. USA’s Ben Shelton and Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti will cross swords at the John Cain Arena. 13th Holger Rune Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic will also face off.
