
FONDA, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Montgomery County is launching a new form of summer entertainment for communities all around the county. Music on the Mohawk is a new summer concert series to invigorate five waterfront municipalities.
The county-wide series is in addition to Amsterdam, St. Johnsville, Canajoharie, Fort Plain, and Fonda’s individual concert series. The Erie Canal Bicentennial celebrations are just around the corner, and the concert series is designed to support the local community and one of the most important tourism seasons.
The concerts are on Saturdays in Amsterdam, Mondays in St. Johnsville, Tuesdays in Canajoharie, Thursdays in Fort Plain, and Fridays in Fonda. All the concerts begin at 7 p.m., unless noted in the lineup listed below.

“Music on the Mohawk is about more than entertainment — it’s about drawing people together in the places that make Montgomery County special,” Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman said. “Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these concerts give you a reason to come out, enjoy the river and be immersed in the Erie Canal communities which call our community home.”
