
SCOTLAND’S top food spots will be battling it out for the title of the country’s best restaurant.
Food couriers Deliveroo has revealed their shortlist for their 2025 national awards.
Several businesses across the UK are up for national awards.
Scores of locations have been entered into specialist categories, including best burger, Chinese and chicken.
This year also sees the introduction of several new categories – such as Lifetime Achievement, Changing the Game, Role Model and Rising Star.
But five have secured a coveted place in the shortlist for independent restaurant of the year.
They are among the 25 businesses across five regional shortlists across Britain.
The winner will be chosen by a public vote, with customers logging in to cast their vote for the winner.
Punters will get the chance to vote for their favourite restaurants until the polls close on May 9.
Here is the full list of places on the shortlist for Scotland’s independent restaurant of the year.
Roastie Toastie – Aberdeen
The Aberdeen business has become a hit with customers for their selection of toasted sandwiches.
All of their products are wood-fired which has seen them secure a spot
Deliveroo said: “Serving a delicious range of wood-fired toasted sandwiches, the team at Roastie Toastie are all about championing the incredible local community and spots that make Aberdeen feel like home.”
Big Manny’s Pizza, Aberdeen & Edinburgh
Trio Calum and brothers Phil and Ashley Adams began workig together in lockdown and launched their first business just six months later.
Big Manny’s Pizza has expanded rapidly since then, serving fresh, hot pizza to locals in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Akiko, Glasgow
Glasgow’s Akiko has become a favourite for anyone seeking out outh-watering Japanese cuisine.
They serve up delicious poké bowls, sushi, bento boxes, sides & appetisers.
The business boasts there is “something for everyone” with their build-your-own poké bar.
Non Viet, Glasgow
Another popular Glasgow chain to make the shortlist is Non Viet.
With two outlets, one in the city‘s Charing Cross and the other on bustling Great Western Road, their Vietnamese cuisine has reached the tastebuds of many Glaswegians.
Deliveroo said: “Non Viet is known for serving truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine!”
Soul Vegan, Edinburgh
Soul Vegan has become a haven for plant-based food lovers in Scotland’s capital.
It gained a spot on the shortlist for their dedication to crafting exceptional culinary experiences that celebrate the beauty and flavours of vegan cuisine.
The winner of Scotland’s restaurant of the year will join the finalists for UK restaurant of the year.
Deliveroo have recruited a celebrity to the judging panel.
The regional winners will be judged by TV star, Masterchef finalist and daugter of celebrity chef Tilly Ramsay.
She said: “I can’t wait to take my taste buds on a tour as I rate some of the most loved local eats from around the UK and Ireland as part of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards.
“The shortlist of restaurants looks epic, and I’m excited to get stuck into deliberating the dishes for the top title, Independent Restaurant of the Year, with my co-judges.
How to vote in the Deliveroo restaurant awards
Takeaway fans can cast their vote for UK and Ireland’s most loved restaurants at deliveroorestaurantawards.com between April 14 and May 9 2025, with voting closing on 9th May at 11:59PM.
Customers who vote will be automatically entered into a draw to win £150 in Deliveroo credit*.
The winners of the Deliveroo 2025 Restaurant Awards will be announced via Deliverooo’s social channels on 28th May 2025.
