Infamous Bross Bagels’ former site set to become city’s tenth Black Sheep Coffee – Deadline News

THE former site of one of the now-liquidated Bross Bagels shops is set to become the city’s tenth Black Sheep Coffee store.
The location is less than 500 feet from an existing Black Sheep Coffee shop, and less than a mile from three others.
This seems to mark the end of the Bross Bagels saga as its other Edinburgh locations have already been replaced by a pet shop, a restaurant and a deli.
All sites were forced to close after the chain allegedly accumulated debts of up to £1m.

Black Sheep Coffee already has two locations on Princes Street, one on George Street, one on Shandwick Place, and five others across the Scottish capital.
They have now set their sights on the former location of Bross Bagels on Little King Street, at the back entrance to the St James’ Quarter.
Bross Bagels, owned by Laura Bross, has been the subject of significant local controversy after the company dissolved in 2023.
Stakeholders who donated almost £150,000 to Laura’s crowdfunding appeal were told they would likely not see the money again.
The company operated out of four Edinburgh sites – with its Bruntsfield location recently becoming Italian sandwich deli, Toscano.
The Black Sheep Coffee chain, founded by friends who met at the University of St Andrews, has steadily been amassing popularity and has over 60 locations across the UK.
Some of their Edinburgh shops stay open until 9pm on weekends, and also serve alcohol in the evenings.
Customers can enjoy pints of Camden Hells or cans of Beavertown Neck Oil, or can opt for a Baileys latte cocktail or a salted caramel espresso martini.
