Howie Carr: Taxpayers underwrite every damn Dem policy

Massachusetts politics has become like the WNBA – a dysfunctional bunch of bitter, finger-pointing, (mostly) childless women blaming everybody else for their own catastrophic choices, as the paying customers rush for the nearest exits.

And unlike the WNBA, the State House doesn’t even have a Caitlin Clark-type that normal people can root for even as she’s bullied and demeaned. (Sorry, Diana DiZoglio, you’re no Caitlin Clark.)

Will the last American leaving the Commonwealth please turn out the lights?

Today, let’s again consider the calamity of the foreign freeloader flophouses that have blown a $3 billion hole in the state budget.

The “Healey hotels” are so dreadful that even their creator, Gov. Maura Healey, recognized that they had to be shut down before the next election.

But where was she going to put all the thousands of Third World grifters who flopped into Massachusetts during the Biden error because they heard there was no work here, ever?

So now the welfare cancer is metastasizing into another part of the state budget – HomeBase. It’s described as a “state-run emergency assistance family shelter program.”

Think of it this way: instead of having them all in one place, usually a failed motel, doing nothing except calling 911, brawling, doing drugs and generally wrecking that one neighborhood, they’re scattering them into other neighborhoods… your neighborhoods, unless you’re filthy rich, living off a trust fund, like so many Democrats.

What could possibly go wrong?

When Maura took office in January 2023, the HomeBase caseload was 1,473 “families.” This month it’s up to 9,059.

It’s a “shell game,” as one of the Republican candidates for governor put it yesterday. The hacks say that they now have, you know, residency requirements. Yeah, right. And we now do criminal checks – as if you can get CORI reports out of Haiti, or Venezuela.

Maura shrugs off all these scandals. Karen Read? Who’s that?

Of course she never planned to still be here, in the ruins of this failed state. She thought she’d be down in DC by now with her young gal pal, as Kamala Harris’ attorney general.

But it was not to be. Maura still has her moments, her woke “firsts” – like appointing the first-ever transgender judge. Went to Harvard, because of course “they” did.

But this multi-billion-dollar illegal-alien disaster is something Maura can’t waddle away from.

Let’s return to the 2024 Shelter Serious Incidents Report from her own state government. It’s 2,239 pages of horrific incidents that have been going on in these places that are allegedly being shut down.

Remember, the non-working illegals are now going to be placed into residential neighborhoods. So we begin with a July 2024 incident on page 845, involving a complaint from “landlords,” i.e., Americans, living nearby one of these flophouses.

“Children are destroying property, stopping cars and ‘begging for money and food’ and threatening the drivers if they do not give them money… The children attempted to steal bikes from the backyard of another landlord and damaged a vehicle parked in a driveway.”

Little Tonton Macoutes, perhaps coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Page 812: “Security confirmed children were in the room unattended and called (redacted) PD… The room was filthy, prescription bottles around the room, one bed with no sheets. The bathroom had multiple cooking appliances on the floor and in the sink, feces were dropping down the side of the toilet.”

Solution: Put them in a new room until the staff, i.e., Americans, could clean up the toxic mess left behind by the undocumented Democrats.

Page 824: “Unauthorized overnight guests in their room, including brother and pregnant sister-in-law…”

Pregnant is a recurring word in these reports. Dropping an anchor baby means even more welfare. You don’t see the word “husband” nearly as much. Mostly it’s “partners.”

Page 799: “(Redacted) informs staff she will get a restraining order to have them both removed from their shifts.”

A restraining order! Bet they’re more difficult to get in Port-au-Prince than in Marlboro. They learn quickly about their rights. About their responsibilities, not so much.

The report continues:

“A few minutes later the police showed up at the house. Staff reports the police officer was not happy with the resident and asked her to stop calling 911 when their (sic) was no concern or emergency.”

It’s not that they’re always calling 911 for the cops. Sometimes they need an ambulance. You know, for a headache, or a hangnail. You’d call the ambulance every time you had the sniffles, too, if it were on the arm, which it is for them, like everything else.

“Everything free in America” – it’s not just an old Broadway song anymore. It’s a way of life in Massachusetts, at least if you’re an illegal alien.

The “newcomers” have utterly destroyed these Healey hotels. If there’s one near you and it’s already closed, you’ve probably noticed giant overflowing dumpsters out front. Everything is being ripped out, down to the flooring, they’re so filthy after all these years of freeloading squatters.

Would you be shocked to know that many are now infested with cockroaches and other bugs? But the non-working “clients” don’t want to be bothered by the working Americans who must fumigate the rooms.

Page 830, from last July: “(Illegal) voiced his opinion about waiting all day for pest control and if they didn’t come in the next few minutes then he would not let them in. Because of that statement an argument ensued between him and the General Manager. They were both cursing each other and calling each other names.”

All this and more, coming soon, to a neighborhood near you….
