Katy Perry broke into a rendition of “what a wonderful world” – while the broadcaster Gayle King said she took a moment to “appreciate the ground” – after they took part in an eleven-minute journey to the edge of space and back.
The all-female crew had two days of training before undertaking the journey, on board a rocket owned by Amazon co-founder Jeff Bezos.
