
SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (WGN) — A South Elgin man was charged Friday with more than a dozen counts that allege he spread, reproduced and possessed child pornography for more than seven months.
According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office (KCSAO), Colin J. McCambridge was charged with two felony counts of disseminating a moving depiction of child pornography, two felony counts of reproducing a moving depiction of child pornography, and ten felony counts of possessing a moving depiction of child pornography.

The KCSAO alleges McCambridge possessed, reproduced and distributed multiple videos containing child sex abuse material between Nov. 8, 2024, and June 16, 2025.
McCambridge appeared in court on June 18 for a pretrial detention/release hearing where the State filed a petition and argued for his detention. The court released McCambridge under certain conditions, including that he have no contact with any minors under the age of 18 and no access to the internet.
McCambridge’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 23 at 9 a.m. in Courtroom 313 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
