SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego Padres appeared to have a good luck charm from the soccer world Tuesday at Petco Park.
FC Barcelona defender Eric Garcia was in attendance for the Padres dominating victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 11-1.
On Wednesday, Barcelona posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, a picture of Garcia on the field wearing a Manny Machado jersey.
Garcia, 24, has been with the Spanish club team since the summer of 2021. Prior to joining Barça, he made his debut with Manchester City just before his 18th birthday in December of 2018 against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
Garcia is also a member of the Spanish national team, playing in big tournaments like Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and winning a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
It’s always nice seeing athletes appreciate other athletes in different sports.
