4S RANCH, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was arrested Tuesday after two people were hurt in a home burglary in 4S Ranch.
The incident occurred just after midnight at an apartment complex in the 10300 block of Craftsman Way, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI.
Deputies learned the suspect forced his way into an apartment, stabbed a man multiple times and struck a woman multiple times in the face, according to law enforcement.
Both victims were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities identified the suspect as 31-year-old Fernando Gonzalez. The victims are said to have known Gonzalez.
When deputies arrived at the location, Gonzalez allegedly left the apartment, prompting a pursuit northbound on Interstate 5. The pursuit was then called off due to heavy fog in the area.
The suspect vehicle was later found unoccupied in the 1900 block of Northstar Way in San Marcos, where the suspect may have gone into a nearby apartment.
Gonzalez was taken into custody and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of burglary and attempted murder.
