Man charged with murder in stabbing Edmonton police deem intimate partner homicide | CBC News

Police have charged a man with murder after a woman was found fatally stabbed in an Edmonton home.
Police said the victim, 30-year-old Erin Kern, knew the accused and her death is considered an intimate partner homicide.
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said in a news release that officers were called Tuesday morning to a home in the Strathearn neighbourhood, around 95th Avenue and 91st Street, for a report of a man with a weapon and a woman who was possibly dead.
EPS said Drew Moore, 36, fled the scene, but was arrested shortly after.
Kern was found dead in the house. A 62-year-old man had also been assaulted but did not report any injuries, police said.
An autopsy determined Kern died from multiple stab wounds.
Moore has been charged with second-degree murder in Kern’s death, and attempted murder of the older man.
He’s also charged with several breaches, including of a release order and a probation order.
