A SCOTTISH whisky company has released a new blend inspired by an Edinburgh neighbourhood and featuring artwork of a park in the city.
Blind Summit Whisky has created its first in-house blended malt to recognise its local area of Lochend.
Bottles of the Lochend blend feature artwork based on Lochend Park by local graphic designer Danny Crofts, who has worked with brands including Adidas Originals, Spotify and Coca-Cola.
Blind Summit Whisky says that supporting the community is important to the company, with all bottle labels made through local collaborations, and each image telling a story that is important to founders Jamie and James.

Jamie Dawson, director at Blind Summit Whisky said: “The Lochend Blend is six different single malts, married together in one Australian Tawny Barrel.
“The Blended Malt is based on whisky from Ledaig distillery with Caol Ila, Ben Nevis, Macduff, Brackla and Highland Park.”
Speaking on the local link, he added: “As we are based just off Lochend Road we thought it nice to name our first blended malt after our local park, lord knows Leith gets enough of a mention on whisky labels.
“The label features artwork of Lochend Park by graphic designer Danny Crofts.

“It’s bright and vibrant to match the whisky itself, a smokey, fruity, full flavoured blended malt, pours pink with natural colour from the Tawny Wine Cask, it’s about as fun as good whisky comes.”
The founders say that this blend came about following feedback from their first year of trading, and in a mission to release a whisky that could be enjoyed by “a wide range of drinkers at an affordable price point”.
Blind Summit Whisky is a single cask and small batch company focused on quality.
The business releases one-off bottlings from distilleries across Scotland, with whiskies so far inspired by distilleries such as Fettercairn, Dailuaine and Glentauchers.
