
Police have ramped up patrols in Shirley to reduce reports of groups of teenagers causing trouble.
The order has been in force since 12pm today, April 3, and will remain in place until 12pm on Saturday, April 5.
The Section 34 order allows police to deal with any issues of anti-social behaviour in a specific area “more effectively”.
The dispersal order area (Image: Hampshire Constabulary) “This gives our officers the power to order a person to leave the area with no return within the specified time period”, a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.

Those who refuse to comply with the order are committing a criminal offence and are liable for arrest.
The spokesperson added: “In addition to the order, officers will also be out and about in the area carrying out dedicated patrols to help tackle and disrupt the issue.
“We are currently out in the Shirley High Street and Shirley precinct area and our patrols will continue over the coming days.
“Anyone with any questions, information or concerns is asked to approach patrolling officers or call us on 101.”
