DENVER (KDVR) — For a few days this summer, the Underground Music Showcase will once again turn South Broadway into a festival grounds for hundreds of performances at over a dozen venues.
The festival is the state’s largest and longest-running music festival and has provided a stage where local legends are born, careers are launched and legacies are built for 25 years now, according to the website.
The festival said that this year, it is “turning up the volume on everything” that makes it iconic. Attendees can expect “an unforgettable lineup and activations, with a special focus on honoring the legacy voices and sounds that have shaped Colorado music.”
This year’s festival, dubbed “25 Years Loud,” will span across three days from July 25-27. According to a press release, the festival will feature over 300 performances from local and national artists across 12 indoor venues and three outdoor stages.
In the past, shows have been held at stages set up outside as well as bars and venues in the area along South Broadway.
Jami Duffy, co-manager of UMS and Executive director of Youth on Record, which presents the festival alongside Two Parts, said fans will not want to miss this year’s festival.
“Don’t sleep on this fest. Something magical and innovative is happening here—it’s about staying power. This milestone isn’t just about reflecting on our past—it’s about amplifying our future. We’re committed to continuing our legacy, making every year more visible and more vibrant than the last. Our local government agencies, philanthropy, and cultural advocates should take note—UMS is a model of what music festivals can and should be,” Duffy said in the show announcement.
The lineup and exact venues have yet to be announced. Last year, the lineup was announced in April. In 2023, according to the festival’s impact report, 75% of artists who performed identified themselves as historically marginalized or minoritized, 63% identified as a woman or non-binary, 28% identified as Black, Indigenous and People of Color and 46% identified as members of the LGBTQIA+ community
Fans can expect an announcement for presale tickets on Feb. 4 and tickets will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. Artist applications are open as of Thursday and applications close on March 2.
