1 injured in shooting with Clear Creek County deputies near Georgetown

One person was shot and injured Thursday by Clear Creek County sheriff’s deputies about 6 miles east of Georgetown, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s officials said on social media that the shooting happened at the intersection of County Road 308 and County Road 306, also known as Alvarado Road, near Interstate 70 in Lawson.

No officers were injured and paramedics took the person who was shot, who was not identified, to the hospital.

This is the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office’s first documented police shooting since the death of 22-year-old Christian Glass in 2022.

Glass called 911 for help after his car got stuck in Silver Plume on June 11, 2022, and was experiencing a mental health crisis when a Clear Creek County deputy shot and killed him.

A jury found Clear Creek County Sheriff’s deputy Andrew Buen guilty in February of criminally negligent homicide in Glass’s death.
