Bethlehem grad Claire Hutton makes U.S. National Team

DELMAR, NY (NEWS10) — Playing for your national team at the highest level is an honor only few get to experience. Bethlehem graduate Claire Hutton is set to become one of the few.

Hutton has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team for the 2025 SheBelievesCup. It’s the first call up to the senior team for the 19-year old, who currently plays for the Kansas City Current in the National Women’s Soccer League.

Hutton previously played for the U-17 national team in 2022, captained the U-19 team at the 2023 Pan American Games, and started five games for the U.S. at the U-20 World Cup last summer.

It’s all led to the opportunity of a lifetime. “I’m so excited,” said Hutton. “It’s been my dream since I was little. Having this opportunity and playing with some of the players that are hanging on my bedroom wall back at home in New York is just surreal. I’m still processing it. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of and I’m working towards it. So it’s one of those things that you say, one day it’s going to happen. If I keep working hard and I keep following my dreams, it’ll happen. When I finally saw the email that it was happening, it was kind of like, I need to be pinched right now. My dreams are becoming reality.”

The SheBelievesCup begsin on February 26 against Colombia.
