Bennington cidery closes after 4 years

BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10)– A cidery in Bennington has closed. The Little City Cider Co., announced its closure, effective on Wednesday, in a social media post citing costs and industry challenges.

According to the business, the cidery opened in 2021, as a way to bring the community together. Little City Cider offered live bands throughout the week and food trucks on weekends.

The cidery, described as the only commercial hard cidery in Southern Vermont, sold hard ciders and microbrews. The post stated the decision was not made lightly and the owners appreciate the customers and staff they had.

It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news—effective today – March 5, 2025 – Little City Cider is closing its doors.

This decision did not come lightly, but due to rising costs and industry challenges in our area, we are no longer able to continue operations. We are deeply saddened to bring this news to our incredible community, knowing it may come as a shock.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has supported us over the years—our dedicated patrons, the talented entertainers who filled our space with music and laughter, and the amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to make Little City Cider a welcoming place. Your passion, kindness, and support have meant the world to us.

While this chapter comes to an end, we hold onto the memories of the connections made, the celebrations shared, and the cider poured. Thank you for being a part of our journey. We wish you all a warm and joyful spring ahead.
