The widower of Emma McManus has issued a legal challenge seeking to quash the verdict from a Barbados coroner that found his wife had suffered a cocaine-related death in December 2020.

John McManus, the son of horse racing tycoon JP McManus, has filed the case against Graveney Bannister, alleging the coroner unlawfully delivered his findings without awaiting the outcome of an appeal Mr McManus took over a case in which he alleged the coroner was “biased” and should be removed from the inquest.
