An investigation has been launched by gardaí into all circumstances surrounding the death of a baby at a home in Co Meath.
The death was reported to gardaí on Thursday.
The deceased baby was removed to the mortuary for a postmortem examination, which is to be conducted by the State Pathologist in due course.
The results of the postmortem examination will determine the course of the garda investigation, RTÉ News reports.
It is understood the investigation is being treated as highly sensitive by gardaí.
