This Easter, there’s no shortage of events to keep you occupied during the long weekend.

Beverage Festival at The Biscuit Factory 

Date: Friday, 18 April – Saturday, 19 April 

Time: Friday 17:00 – 20:00, Saturday 12:00 – 15:00 
Location: The Biscuit Factory, 4-6 Anderson Place, EH6 5NP 

The Biscuit Factory is hosting the second annual edition of their Beverage Festival this weekend, with a variety of events and masterclasses for beer and spirits lovers. As well as a home brewer competition, there will be sessions on identifying faults in beer, using botanicals in drinks, and entertainment from Roxy Lanes. Tickets for Friday evening and both Saturday daytime and evening are available through their website.

Community fun in the park with Edinburgh Printmakers 

Date: Saturday, 19 April 

Time: 13:00 – 15:00 

Location: Harrison Park West (dog free area), EH11 1SG 

Creative centre and gallery, Edinburgh Printmakers, is hosting a wholesome, family friendly get together in Harrison Gardens this weekend. After a picnic, you will have an opportunity to join artists from Edinburgh Printmakers studios in exploring nature using watercolours. The event promotes creative mindfulness and is free to attend through their sign-up page online. Food, picnic blankets, and materials will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring some favourite snacks and artist’s tools too. 

Community in the Park – Sat 19 April – Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust 

Inklings showcase for big ideas in small books 

Date: Tuesday, 22 April 

Time: 19:00 – 20:00 

Location: The Portobello Bookshop, 46 Portobello High Street, EH15 1DA 

A group of writers published with 404 Ink will be at the Portobello Bookshop next week to chat about their books – with topics ranging from hip hop to dungeons and dragons to Prince’s fashion choices. Arusa Qureshi, Casci Ritchie, Thom James Carter and Xuanlin Tham will be in conversation with Rebecca Wojturska.

Art Market for Palestine 

Date: Tuesday, 22 April 

Time: 17:00 – late 

Location: Dragonfly Cocktail Bar, 52 West Port, EH1 2LD 

Head down to the oldest cocktail bar in Edinburgh for a night of art, screen printing, silent auctions and freshly baked goods. The event, called Imprinted On Our Minds is an art market for Palestine in collaboration with In Solidarity Edinburgh. All funds will go towards the living and/or evacuation costs for Palestinian families. £5 entry includes 10% off drinks at the bar and the night will include an open mic where anyone is welcome to offer music, poetry, or just a few words. Attendees will also have the opportunity to leave with a tote bag that they printed themselves.
